The visit of the Ann Arbor Elks, accoinpanied by a nurnber of their friends, to Jackson, on Monday, Labor Day, wben they took part in the great Elks' field day, wil] not soon be forgotten by those wbo went on the trip, which was replete witb good natured fun and merriment froni start to finish. The party whioh left Anu Arbor oo the 9:18 Michigan Central train that morning nnmbered about 50 peopls inolnding the Washtenaw Evening Times Band, bnt this nntnber was increased to 60 before Jaokson was reached. Arrived at Jaokson a delegation from the lodge of B. P. O. Elks in that city met and escorted them to the Hibbard house where they established their headqnarters and adjourned for dinner. At 1 :30 the great grotesqoe parade was formad and headed by the Washtenaw Times Band and Ann Arbor contingent eaoh meraber of whicb wore a distinguishing badge and carried a yellow and bine umbrella rnarched tbrongh the prinoipal streets of the city and out to the fair grounds where the sports were held. Almost every feature was a burlesque designed for purely fun making purposes, in whicb they were eminently suooessful. Au immense oonoourse of people was present, the grand stand being so packed with speotators that at times it was feared it would not stand the strain pnt upou it, About 5 o'olook the sports ended and the people retnrned to tbu oity, only to return to the fair grounds in the evening to listen to the conoert by Boos' Band and witness the grand display of fireworks. By 10 o'olock the doings were over and a return to the oity was made, and at 11:30 the Ann Arborites boarded their special train for home whioh was reached at 1 :30, the Jaoksonians declaring that the Ann Arbor Elks were "all right" and that everybody said so,
