Sheriff Judson won a notable victcxry in the republioan state convention being elected state central oommitteeman over E. O. Grosvenor, of Mouioe, by a vote of 63 to 45. Jndson got the Lenawee vote as did TowDEend, of Jacksod, who was elected as thw seoond jBommitteeman over Bishop, of Wayne, his rival in the republioan oongressional couvention. Tbere seems to have been considerable oongressional politics in the_: eleotions. The sheriff retnrued to this city in a very happy mood, evideutly feeliug mnob surer of the wardenship of the state prisoo. He spoke of his victory as oae of the greatest of his politioal oarèer.
