John Bishop, of Co. G.( 31st Michigan, who is in Ypsilanti, on a 20 days furlough was interviewed by the Timas last Satnrday. Ainong other things the Times quotes him as follows: "It is generally conceded in the 31st that the Ann Arbor company is the star organization and that next oomes Oompany รถ. Camp life is showiug conclnsively the effeot tbat higher education bas on the entire character. Mr. Bishop says that the boys of the Normal, the University and large bigb schools are as a olass better soldier than those who have not eojoyed similar educational advantages. They are more thonghtfnl, show better jndgraent and are more Hable to be uncomplaiolng than the majority of the men. It is significant tbat the rank of tho companies may to a certain extent be determined by their proportion of highly educated men.
