Over in Adrián, the feature of the oounty fair, as here in Ann Arbor, was the log oahin. The oredit for the origiuation of the idea belongs in this county, Mrs. J. Willard Babbitt haviug brought it to the attention of the fair managers here last February. The plau was however somewhat differently worked out. Here the Jog house, which is a vety substantial one, was built frora the contributions of pioueers or their descendants of $5 eaoh to have the uames of pioneers insoribed on the logs. In Adrián the flrst step was the formation of a pioneer society. In this county a pioneer society was already in existence. On July 25, last, a few pioneers organized the Lenawee Pioneer and Historioal Sooiety. August 29 was the day fixed npon for the contribution of logs for the log house and on that day the Adrián fair grouuds was filled by a prooession a rnile and a quartsr long of wagons drawing the oontributed logs. Eaoh donor insisted that his logs should go into the house and so many logs were brought that. it compelled the erectiou of two log cabios instead of one. The cabins were erected bya big bee and weie dedicated with appropriate exercises on oue of the days of tlie fair as ia Ann Arbor. It rained on Thursday, the big day of the fair, at Adriau, and the gate reoeipts dropped to $1,000 instead of over $3,000 as on the corresponding day last year. The offlcers uf the fair opened the last day with long fac.es bnt an attendance of over 7,000 people on Friday made np all losses and enabled the Adrián fair management to olear a little money.
