Annual Festival.

The Ladies' Benevolent Society, of Hamburg and Webster, will hold its seventh annual festival at the residence of Alfred Valentine, in Webster, Thursday evening, Oct. 27. The culinary skill of the members will be displayed this year as in former years. There will be some speaking and much music. Judge H. W. Newkirk, Hon. William Ball, Rev. L. P. Goldrick, Rev. and Mrs. J. J. Staley and Rev. G. Morehoose will be there to entertain you; "and there are others" who will lend a helping voice in the same direction. Everybody come and assist the cause of "sweet charity." Supper, 10 cents, ice cream and cake, 10 cents.

Three freshmen laws were made the victim of a practical joke just before the opening of the law building, being sent to the Methodist church as the place their recitations were to be held, with the information that if they were not there by 8 o'clock the doors would be locked. Of coarse the doors were locked and the freshmen spent some time trying to get in.
