The 31st Michigan are rejoicing at the prospects of going to Cuba. Lieut. - Col. Shubel thinks they will .leave a-bout Dec. 1. The men are not partí - cularly sorry that their opportunity of visitiug Atlanta has been cut off, as the reports of musty buildings, red clay, and inhospitable inhabitants have not oreated a very good impression of the city among the soldier boys. Most of the men like the idea of a southern trip, and are perfectly willing to speud the wiuter in Cuba. A change of climate will, be a great relief, as it is getting too cold in Knoxville for comfort. The Krag-Jorgensen rifles were received Saturday and the men were delighted to exohange their old Springfield rifles for them.
