The legislativa free pass is still universal in Prance. Every mernber of the chamber of deputies has free traveling on any railroad in the country and is fnrnished vvith i rnedai of Identification to make sure that he gets his privileges. In the matter of pay they are better off than the British members of parliament, though their indemnity of $5 a day is small beside the $5, 000 a year of the United States congressman.
