The first Sunday in December is Elk's memorial day and the day was observed Sunday in Ann Arbor by the local lodge. The members met in the lodge room at 2:15 and proceeded to Trinity Lutheran church where the exercises were held. After an anthem by the choir the beautiful and impressive work of the ritual, provided for such occasions was given by the officers of the lodge.

After the singing of the hymn America by the lodge short addresses were made by Exalted Ruler Chas. A. Ward, Rev. W. L. Tedrow and Judge Newkirk. Mr. Ward spoke of the "absent brothers." Rev. Mr. Tedrow spoke upon Fraternities and Judge Newkirk's remarks were devoted particularly to the order of the Elks.
