Mrs. Fannie Gage, who had resided in Sylvan for over half a century, died Dec. 20.

Chelsea is bound to hold a farmers' institute anyway next month if it has lost the state institution.

Mrs. John Greening, of Chelsea, slipped on the ice Tuesday in her yard and broke her left ankle.

The fine farm house of Squire Price, in the southeastern part of Ypsilanti town, was burned Dec. 17.

Walter R. Steffy and Miss Mary Caroline Marshall, were married in Ypsilanti, Dec. 21, by Rev. R. K. Wharton.

George Bauer has purchased the residence in Chelsea of Mrs. James Bacon, who left with her family for Texas Saturday.

Richard Hurdley, of Detroit, and Miss Maud Ayers, of Ypsilanti, were married Dec. 21, by the Rev. Win. Gardam.

Albert Wedemeyer, of Lima, who has purchased the farm of ex-supervisor Osborn, of Sharon, will move on it in the spring.

The Chelsea Standard came out with a Christmas edition of 14 pages and a pretty paper it was, a fine Christmas gift to its readers.

Seventeen tramps attempted to take possession of a freight train at Ypsilanti Wednesday but were driven off by the trainmen after a hard fight.

Harper C. Maybee, instructor of music in the Ypsilanti schools, was married Dee. 21, to Miss Zella Blanche Forsythe, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Forsythe, of Ypsilanti.

The Chelsea Methodists have a supper on the night of Jan. 2, at which the ladies will take a vote on the handsomest unmarried and the handsomest married man present. The gentlemen will then return the compliment.

R. B. Honey and James Gallagher now own the Dexter opera house. The doors will be enlarged, the frame work overhauled and the auditorium made warmer, and an attempt made to secure abetter class of entertainment?.
