Wash tenaw couuty has riow two members of the state board of agriculture. Oapt. E. P. Allen, of Ypsilauti, was elected by the board as a member last eveniug to take the plaoe of A. O. Bird, who had resigned to accept the secretaryship froru which he liad ousted L. H. Batterfleld. . Tbc other Washtenaw member of the board is L. W. Watkins, of Manchester, i-ecently appoiuted' by Gov. Piugree. ïlie governor was present at the meeting whieh is said to havo witnessed the Piugreeizing of the board. Capt. Alleu's appointment was a good oue, for the captiau, althongh he lives in Ypsilaanti and is iu considerable detnand as a speaker, owus a farm iu Sharon. He also takes considerable interest iu educational matters.
