A Singular Action

The Methodist church of Leavenworth, Kan., has brought suit against the Chicago, Great Western railroad for $17,000 damages.
It is alleged that the company's engines. by whistling and ringing bells, interrupt the service, and that the smoke passes into the windows of the church, ruining the clothes of the members of the congregation, and causing other annoyances of such a nature as to practically destroy the value of the church property, along one side of which the railroad tracks run.
