A Rare Occurrence

     Nathan Pierce, of Chelsea, has taken up a homestead under the United States law. For many years this has not been done and therefore it is of interest, there was a time in the history of the country when it was of daily occurrence. This land which he has homesteaded is the bottom of FourMile Lake and has probably contained too much water to have been very much in demand. Its description is the east half of the north west quarter and the north east quarter of the southwest quarter of section four township two north of range four east. It is reported that there is another homestead lying at the bottom of Whitmore Lake.
