His Only Railroad Ride.

Daniel Scotten, the well known millionaire of Detroit, who died last evening, was in Ann Arbor once some years ago. He had a horror of railroad trains and of street cars. It is stated positively by those who knew him for many years that Mr. Scotten was never known to be outside of Wayne county, except once, in 25 years. That was on the occasion of the marriage of W. Watson Lovett, a son of his former partner V. B. Lovett. The marriage, some years ago, at Ann Arbor, was made the occasion of the only railroad journey Daniel Scotten ever took in his life, a distance of 36 miles.
