Death of Fred Graf

The many friends of Fred Graf, the

jeweler, will be greatly shocked by

the news that he died Sunday night in

Chicago. The funeral services will be

held Wednesday at his home. He was

born in Canton Berne, Switzerland

about 54 years ago. He removed to

Hamburg, Ontario, and in 1872 came

to Ann Arbor. After being in busi-

ness two years for himself he accepted

an engagement with Jacob Haller &

Son, jewelers, and was in their employ

for 16 years. Some five years ago

with his family he removed to Chicago.

The winter before leaving Ann Arbor

he suffered from a severe attack of the

grip from which he never fully re-

covered. He was a member of Ann

Arbor Lodge, No. 27, A. O. U. W.,

Ann Arbor Turn Verein and Ann Ar-

bor Schutzenbund. He was of a very

amiable disposition and much respected

 for his upright character. He leaves a

wife, one son and two daughters.
