Miobael Miller, as Jie oalls himself carries his nerve with him. He aud bis nerve are dow stopping at Hotel de Gilleu whero he will board nntil April 11. Then he will interview Jnstice Dnffy and be exarnined on the charge of stealing tools from the shop of Jacob Volland the barness maker of S. Fonrth ave. Yesterday afternoon he called ou Mr. Volland and askcd for work. He said he had come from Chelsea where he had spent the night with Mr. Volland's iiephew, Charles Steinbach. Mr. Volland agreed to give him work and he was te come around this morning. Iu answer to the qnestion of Henry Apfel, Mr. Volland's assistant, he said his home was in Pittsburg. Soon after Miller left Mr. Apfel missed his kuite aud a trace punch. Mr. Apfel called on Antón Teufel where he was informed a stranger had tried to sell some tools. Sheriff Gillen was informed of the theft and promptly called up his depnties. Not niany honrs elapsed before Deputy Westfall, of Ypsilanti bagged his man. He claimed he had bought the tools fonnd in his pocket. Upon Mr. Westfall's suggesting that he had bought the tools of Jacob Volland, he rnaUe no answer
