LOST A DIAMOND RING.

A Manchester Jeweler Loses a Costomer's Ring.

Last Thursday afternoon B. W. Amsden cleaned a diamond ring for Miss Miller, of Pittsburg, Pa., who is trimmer in Mrs. Rundell's millinery store. Bert says he intended taking the train for Ypsilanti, and in putting away his goods slipped the ring on his finger to deliver to her, but seeing the buss at the hotel hastened across and forgot the ring. He went to Ann Arbor for a pair of shoes and took supper at the Cook house with a traveling man. When he went to wash his hands he removed the ring from his finger and laid it down and forgot it until he was at the supper table, when he rushed back, only to find the ring gone. Bert came home Monday fore noon and reported that he could not get any clue as to who got the ring. Miss Miller feels the loss severely as she says the ring was a present from her father, who paid $100 for it. The transaction is quite generally known about town and has caused considerable unfavorable comment. This morning Bert offered to duplicate the ring or pay her $65 for the one lost --
