Banker W. H. Davenport, of Saline, was in the city Friday. He had quite an experience the night before. About midnight he thought he heard some one trying to get into his home. At 3:30 o'clock he again heard some one, who this time was trying to get into his bed room. He invited the fellow to come in, but instead the man left. In the morning he found a screen window in the cellar had been cut and the fellow had tried to get into the upper part of the house through the cellar door. Mr. Davenport thinks he would have little trouble in laying his hands on the man who attempted to rob him.
