Caught In A Shaft

   Frank Wink, aged 25 years, assistant machine tender at the Peninsular paper mills in Ypsilanti, was badly injured Saturday by being caught in a rewinding shaft. The young man was working around the machine, when in some way his clothing became entangled and be was thrown around the haft, striking the floor on his head. causing a deep scalp wound about six inches long. His left foot was also badly mangled, his big toe being torn out by the roots and half of his left foot smashed almost to a jelly.

    When found by the machine tender, the wounded man had only his socks left on, the rest of his clothing being nothing but a bundle of rags. Dr. Huston dressed bis wounds and had him conveyed to the sanitarium, where he now lies in a critical condition. ____________________________
