A very pleasant wedding took place last evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Beck, No. 443 W. Fourth st. It was the marriage of their only daughter Emma E., to Mr. John F. Wagner. The ceremony took place at 7:30 o'clock in the northeast parlor. The room had been beautifully decorated with ferns, evergreens, potted plants and cut flowers. A lovely arch from which was suspended a horse shoe made up of ever greens and flowers, occupied the southeast parlor corner of the parlor. Under these happy symbols, the groom and bride stood while Rev. John Neumann, of the Bethlehem church pronounced them man and wife. Mr. Fred Ronneberger acted as best man. Miss Louise Horn, of Detroit, acted as maid of honor, the Misses Bertha Wagner and Clara Armbruster as bridesmaids, and Miss Eliza Armbruster played Mendelsshon"s wedding march. The bride presented the bridesmaids, maid of honor and Miss Eliza Armbruster with opal stick pins, the groom presented the groomsman also with an opal stick pin.

The bride wore a white organdy over white silk, Miss Clara Armbruster organdy over red silk, Miss Bertha Wagner organdy over blue silk, Miss Louise Horn organdy over yellow silk. After the ceremony, bounteous refreshments were served with old time German generous hospitalty. The young couple are very favorably known and have a large number of friends, which was proved by the number of useful, costly and handsome presents which they received.

The front yard of the Beck homestead was illuminated with Chinese lanterns. Here, as well as in the house, the more than 200 guests were entertained most delightfully. with music and social conversation, it being a late or rather early hour before the company broke up for their respective homes. The bride presented the groom with a diamond pin and the groom presented the bride with a pearl broach with diamond.

The happy couple left on the 11:15 Michigan Central train for the east. They were accompanied to the depot by many young friends, who by the quantity of rice and number of old shoes which they deposited in the passenger car, left no doubt in the minds of the other passengers that there was a bridal couple aboard. Mr. and Mrs. Wagner will be at home to their friends after July 1, at No 443 W. Fourth st.  Among the guests from out of town were Dr. John Siefert, Miss Louise Horn, Mrs. H. Horn and Mrs. Louis Horn, of Detroit.
