STOOD ON THEIR HEADS.

Two Peace Officers were so Treated Tuesday Night.

Tuesday night Undersheriff Fred Gillen and Officer Isbell were returning from a trip in the country where they had been in the legitimate discharge of duty, and when near the jail on Ashley street, their vehicle was upset and the officers were thrown. They did not see a large pile of tar material used for making tar walks, which was in the road and drove right over it, that is, they tried to. The effort was not successful, however, and the buggy went over and the officers, for once at least, were stood on their heads. But it would be a good man, let it be understood, to do that thing with either of them. They did not continue long in the aforesaid position for the reason that they are not experts in that line. The Argus does not propose to quote any of the language that was used at the place of' the accident. No damage was done except to the feelings.
