W. Randolph MacGregor returned Tuesday evening from the north, where he bad been on business, and be reiterated what was stated in the Argus on May 24, that he is negotiating for the erection of a new opera house in this city. However, he claims that they have not as yet settled on one of the three sites offered.

Mr. MacGregor asserted that a capitalist and theatrical gentleman of Chicago was in the city and is much pleased with Ann Arbor as a theatre town. Said he: "I expect the plans every day from Chicago and l can then let you know what we can do."

According to a description of the plans they intend to lease the second story for offices and a certain society in this city has already asked for the third floor for a lodge room and part of the second for club rooms and parlors.

"It will be an up-to-date house you can just bet, " said he, "and will be larger than the present one."
