    A number of citizens interested in securing an athletic park for the city met Tuesday evening and appointed a committee to inspect grounds and get figures. Reinnardt's land at Adams and Michigan is considered The flats on Huron river are also looked upon with favor, but the grounds at the corner of Chicago ave. and Normal st. are deemed the best for the park. If the Normal will combine with the citizens and the council a good athletic field can be secured. Let the Fourth of July management charge an admission fee to their sports, and let the Normal add their mite to the money thus obtained. Then let them present the amount to the city with a request that they complete the job. --- Ypsilanti Commercial.

   Some one has told Ypsilanti that there is going to be a Fourth of July celebration there and Ben Kief circulated the report. Dave Dodge heard about it and he thought that it ought to be held the night of July 5 as he will not return from the"Corn Picnic" until then.

   But seriously Ypsilanti ought to wake up from its "Sleepy Hallow" mood and purchase an athletic field. What's the use of having Sam Post regulate athletic sports.    He owns the town now.
