A Hartford lawyer tells of a client in one of the adjoining towns who had a farm to sell. He had recently sunk a well on it, and the job cost quite a sum; consequently when he talked of disposing of his property, the well caused him considerable anxiety. "How much do you ask for the farm?" the lawyer asked. "Wall, I'll tell yer," drawled the farmer, "I'll sell the place for $700 with the well, and I'll let it go for $600 without the well."—Philadelphia Times.
