Tbe Germán church people, of Ano Arbor, have always takeu mnch iuterest id the St. John's Germán Evangelical chnrch in Detroit. It was first organized ty the late Rev. Frederick Schinid, as one of his early home missionary enterprises. The Detroit News last evening contains the following interesting notice of the well known pastor : "Rev. Charles Haass, pastor of St. Johns' Germán Evangelical chnrch, Russell and Chestnut sts. , has resignd after nearly 40 years of service. He submitted his resignation to the cougregation last Wednesday evening, and stated that it was irrevocable. "I discoverd I was not strong enongh for the task," he said this morning, "so I decided to give it up and tnrn the church over to a youuger man. I ana too oíd for active service. The time has come for me to rest, and rny people have graciously agreed with me. "
