The Presidency of tbe normal school systom of the state according to a Cleveland dispatch bas been offered to Superintendent L. C. Jones, of the Cleveland public schools at an increase of salary. His preseut salary is L5,000. If $6,000 Vflll bring him he will prob ably be the first president uuder the new regime. Snpt. Jones would make au admirable man for the place. He is tlioroughly acquainted with the normal school problem, is a gradúate of the Oswego state normal school, of New York, and has been superintendent of scnools at Indiauapolis and Cleveland fur mauy years. He is a ripe scholar, au able executive and has great ability ; in the workina ont of educational theories. He was one of hose whose narues were first mentioued n connection with the place. Charles D. Poston, upon whonu the Territory of Arizona has just conferred a pension oí $25 a month, is known as 'The Father gí Arizona." He is the first delégate to Congress from that sec;ion.
