'" Iu the removal of the old Sbowers residence to tbe outskirts of Ypsilanti yesterday ona of the old landmarks oí YpsüaDti was obhterated. The building was erected abcmt 1830 by James Saunders, then sheriff of Washtrtaw county wasused by him and liis family for many years, but iinally passed iuto the possession of strungers. The building was smali, square in shape, contained tour rooms on the first floor and tbree above. A peculiarity of lts construction was that the space betweeu the clapboards aud the inner part of tbe vall was fllled with a iayer of brick. Throughout tbe building the workiuansnip was excellent.
