Mr. John Dodge, as was nmiouuced in Saturday's Argus,sang in the chapel of Hillsdale uollege on Sunday. He was so pleasing to the authorities of the college that be was engaged te take charge of the vocal music work in the institntion Nvitb. the title of professor of vocal musie. Mr. Dodge has had line training aDd exceptional opportunities, for preparing hiruself forthis work and is thoronghly competent tomeet the responsibilities of the positisu. He has a fine tenor voice rhich is well trainee! and handled with pleasing expresaron and effect. He is a good : drill master also and possesses the aiblity to get all the rnusiu oat of an individual or choir that is to be had. His manner of handling pupils or a choir is takiƶg aud he secures the desired wort with ont friction. He undoubtedly has a bright future before hira and the Argiis congratulates bim on secuuriug so gootl a position. He will fill tbe position to th satisfaction of the college antboirties and credit to hiruself.
