5,000 Marriage Licenses

Frederick H. Ziegen, of Ypsilanti, and Myrtle Comer, of Cherry Hill, have the distinction of being awarded the 5000th marriage license.

It was granted yesterday.

Five thousand licenses have been issued from the county clerk's office since Sept. 27, 1887, or just about 12 years.

This is at the rate of 416 a year for Washtenaw County.

The following licenses have been granted yesterday and today:

Annie Easton, Lima 28

Ralph Williams, Webster 31
