COST $19 TO FIND OUT ABOUT 10 CENTS
It cost the county about $19 to find out who should pay for a ten-cent revenue stamp.
A physician had applied for a certificate, and the law requires on such a document a ten-cent stamp. The county had charged him 25 cents for it. Then came the question who was to pay for the stamp.
No action was taken, although the matter was discussed for about two hours. It seemed to be the consensus of opinion that, inasmuch as the county was to furnish the certificate, it must furnish a legal one, and it could not be legal without a revenue stamp.
