SHERIFF GILLEN A MONEY SAVER

HIS BILLS MUCH LESS THAN HIS PREDECESSORS

Has Saved the County All That Jail Improvements Will Cost.

Much comment has "been made on the bills of Sheriff Gillen and his deputies, yet they show up to be much less than those of his predecessor, ex-Sheriff Judson.

The total for Sheriff and his deputies for the nine months in office is $1,483.61. During the first year of Judson's incumbency the bills amounted to $2,492.37. The next nine months they were $1,414.63, and the total for the year ending 1896, was $2,097.92. The next year they were $3,532.46. Last year they were $4,342.66.
