1,500 STUDENTS "HAZE" A BRIDE

SHE REACHED HER HAND OUT OF A CAR WINDOW.

And That Hand Was Immediately "Handed" Around by the Students.

A bride and groom on the 9:43 train last evening were the principal actors in an amusing incident of the students' demonstration at the Michigan Central depot.

They were seated snugly in the car and 1,500 yelling students, who had lost sight of the football team and who had to yell at somebody in order to keep in practice, gave the newly wedded couple a hearty cheer.

The bride modestly waved her hand at the boys as if she were wishing their representatives' good luck, and a terrific yell went up. Hats were waved in the air frantically.

"Speech!" demanded the students.

She looked nonplussed. The groom was seen to say something to her, and he raised the car window.

The bride stuck her hand out to more clearly demonstrate the good wishes for the team and the University of Michigan.

A half a dozen students grabbed the dainty hand, and immediately there was a regular "postoffice rush" for the honor of a squeeze of the bride's fingers, palm or wrist. As quickly also one student would leave a vacant space from the tip of the fingers to the elbow there was another volunteer up ready to take his place.

Her hand was literally handed around among the students. It looked as if the bridegroom was not going to get it back, but the band struck up "There'll Be a Hot Time in the Old Town Tonight," and the incident and the car window closed.
