GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY.

FIFTY YEARS A CHINA STORE IN THE STATE METROPOLIS.

And Now It Has Taken a New Lease ' of  Life- A Vision of Delight.

There are few if any, china stores now (doing business in this country which can claim a half-century of life. The fact that the business established at Detroit in 1849 by Robert W. King still exists and prospers speaks for itself. It is one of the oldest in the West. Throughout Michigan and states adjoining, in the homes of the wealthy and humble alike are souvenirs and heirlooms bought at King's in Detroit. These articles have endured because they were  'good,' outlasting much that was only supposed to be good. The house had the trade of the grandfathers of the present generation, as it had that of their fathers, and it retains the confidence of the present descendant of the pioneers. From the beginning of its efforts and all along in its career to this day, the goods that came from "KINGS" could always be depended upon. ln this age of imitations, more numerous and deceptive than of old, it is a comfort and a satisfaction to know where one can procure the finest and best of those delicate goods. with the assurance that they are exactly as represented.

This veteran and widely popular establishment has just taken a new lease of life. The recently renovated and remodeled store of L.B. King & Co., 103 Woodward avenue. Detroit is in its appointments a delight to visitors and a source of gratification to that enterprising firm. For the greater convenience of the public, the beautiful establishment was thrown open to visitors during three evenings recently. All were united in admiration of the large and elegant display, and of the excellent arrangements provided for its exhibition.

The opening of two new floors as salesrooms enables the firm to do justice to their fine wares not before possible.

The ground floor is devoted to miscellaneous china, bric-a-brac, jardínieres, cut glass. etc.. while a gallery in the rear contains, as a department by itself,  white china for decoration. Recent arrivals of new importations, well displayed, make this floor especially attractive.

The second floor contains the dinnerware, toilet ware, and lamp departments, and in the rear a department for hotel ware.

The third floor is a very attractive feature - a bargain floor. There are accumulations of goods that must be sold. Tables filled with goods marked, "Your choice, 5¢, 10¢, 25¢ and so on, make a selection easy, while on side counters are odds and ends of dinner ware. marked to sell at half their cost and less. This room proved its popularity before it was fully arranged.

All in all, visitors to "King's" will see a modern crockery store as it should be. And the housekeepers of Michigan and all others interested in the lines above named are cordially invited to this inspection.
