While EveningServices Were Still In Progress

CHOIR BOYS SUFFERERS

To Extent of  Two Overcoats, Two Undercoats, 2 Caps, and a Gold Watch

Several of the choir boys had their coats and caps stolen from the chapel of St. Andrew's church last Sunday during the evening service.

The articles taken were two overcoats, two undercoats, two caps, and a gold watch which was left in one of the coats. The choir boys leave their coats on the seats of the chapel when they put on their vestments. The door of the chapel is closed, but not locked so that it can be entered from outdoors. The theft was committed between 7:30 and 8 o'clock.

The janitor of the church noticed four strange boys sitting in the church just before the lights in the church were turned up. They were there when the service began, but disappeared shortly afterwards. The oldest was about 15 or 16, and the three others smaller and between 11 and 14, he thinks. After the choir boys had gone into the church the janitor was in the chapel and everything was all right. He went out for about 10 minutes, and when he came back the coats were gone. Naturally enough the four strange boys are suspected.
