A meeting of the directors of the Lansing, Dexter and Ann Arbpr electric railway was held in Lansing last week. Thomas Birkett, of Dextur, one of the directora, attended the meeting. The Argus calJed him up.by telephone today to flnd out what was to be done with the road. It is evident, trom the conversation with Mr. Birkett, that the road will not be built by tbe present board of directors. "It is cash that is needed," said Mr. Birkett, ''not wind." The price of materia ls has gone so high and tbe maney is lacking, 'No one," continiied Mr. Birkett, ''can build a road these days on wind, excepting Jim. Ashley." Nevertheless Mr. Birkett is örm in the belief that an electric line from Lansing to Ann Arbor will be built by way of Dexter, although not this year.
