Notice Is Hereby Given, That I, D. W. Barry, County Drain Commissioner of the County of Washtenaw and State of Michigan, will, on the 5th day of December A.D. 1899 at the Townhall in the village of Whittaker, in the township of Augusta in the County of Washtenaw, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon of that day, proceed to receive [unintelligible] the deepening, widening and extending of a certain Drain known and designated as "[unintelligible] Drain," located and established in the Township of Augusta, in said County of Washtenaw and described as follows, to-wit:

 

Commencing in the s 1/2 n w 1/4 sec. 15, on the north boundary of the Wabash R. R, Co.'s Right of Way, 19 rods n and 58 deg. e of the n w corner of the e 1/4 s w 1/4 of said section town 4 s range 7 e, and running thence as follows, to-wit: N 78 deg. w 9.8 chains s 80 deg, w 5 12 chains s 29 1/2 w 10.70 chains, thence n 50 deg. w 7.13 chains, thence n 13 w 7.37 chains, thence n 3 deg. w 4.75 chains, thence n 54 deg. w 4.25 chains, thence n 25 deg. w 14.25 chains thence n 82 deg. w 4.75 chains, thence n 50 w 8.89 chains, thence n 19 deg. w 1.23 chains thence n deg. e 5.38 chains, thence n 42 deg w 1 chain, thence n 65 deg w 6.50 ch.. thence n 81 deg. w 4 ch. thence n 45 w 5.42 chains, thence n 81 deg w 2.78 chains. thence n 56 deg. w 11.30 chains thence n 25 deg. w 4.50 chains, thence n 48 deg. w 6.50 chains. thence n 31 deg w 6.00 chains thence n 58 deg w 3.00 chains, thence n 37 deg, w 5.00 chains, thence n 45 deg e 2.50 chain thence n 11 deg. w 1.00 chains, thence n 11 deg. w 3.00 chains thence n 2 deg w 3.00 chains thence n 6 deg. e 15.50 chains, thence n 12 deg. w 2.50 chains, thence n 52 deg w 2.00 chains thence n 2 deg. w 4.25 chains, thence n 58 deg. e 5.50 chains. thence n 20 deg. e 2.75 chains thence n 4 deg, e 3.00 chains to the north line of section 9, 15.69 chains west of the quarter post on the south side of said section 9, and there terminating, The above described route in the center line of said drain and from section 28 to station 81, follows the channel thereof Three rods on each side of center line is taken to deposit excavations and for convenience in digging, the bottom of drain is to be two feet wide. and slope of each bank 1 1/2 ft. horizontal to each foot perpendicular. The total length of drain is 752 rods and its average depth 3.85 feet. Said job will be let by sections. The section at the outlet of the said drain will  be let, first, and the remaining sections in their order up stream, in accordance with the diagram now on file with the other papers pertaining to said drain, in the office of the County Drain Commissioner of the said County of Washtenaw, to which reference may be had by all parties interested and bids will be made and received accordingly. Contracts will be made with the lowest responsible bidder giving adequate security tor the performance of the work, in a sum then and there to be fixed by me, reserving to myself the right to reject any and all bids. The date tor the completion of such contract, and the terms of payment therefor, shall and will De announced at the time and place of letting.

 

Notice Is Further Hereby Given, That at the time and place of said letting, or at such other time and place thereafter to which I, the County Drain Commissioner aforesaid, may adjourn the same, the assessments for benefits and the lands comprised within the "McCarty Drain Special Assessment District," and the apportionments thereof will be awarded by me and will be subject to review for one day, from nine o'clock in the forenoon until five o'clock in the afternoon.

Now, therefore, all unknown and non-resident persons, owners and persons interested in the above described lands, and you Mrs. Lucy Childs, M Brining. Wm. Newt n Es J. Walters, Geo. Brining, Geo. Ebens, R. Merrimab, J I, Williams, W Howling, T Thompson, D. Hitchingham, J. D. O'Briant Wm. Hewens, C. Hinings, M. Poole, S. Poole, N Crittenden Richard Richison, James [unintelligible], Mrs. Cosgrove, Anna Boss McCarty Est., H. Fulington. E. Saunderson. A, Saunderson, H. Brown, M Hammond [unintelligible] Max, A. Coe. Bemis Bros,. Gardner Est., Wm. Lowden, A crew Miller, John K. Campbell P. H. Harris Chas. Doss, Barr Jas. Lowden, Thos. Taladay. Chas. Rogers are hereby notified that at the time and place aforesaid or at such other time and place thereafter to which said hearing may be adjourned, I shall proceed to receive bids for the construction of said "McCarty Drain," in the manner herein before stated; and, also, that at such time of letting from nine o'clock in the forenoon until five o'clock in the afternoon, the assessment for benefits and the lands comprised within the McCarty drain special assessment districts will be subject to review.

 

And You and Each of You, owners and persons interested in the aforesaid lands, are hereby cited to appear at the time and place of such [unintelligible] as aforesaid and be heard with respect to such special assessments and your interest in relation thereto, if you so desire.
