Henry Ortman of this city has located a valuable gold mine in Montana and a closed corporation of Ann Arbor people will control it. At first he interested a couple of well known merchants - one being a proprietor of a meat market and the other a clothier.

One of these gentlemen - the butcher- went to Montana to make a personal investigation. He had some men dig down for 10 feet and some of the quartz was loosened and assayed. It netted $46 to the ton and it was to be seen that the quartz grows richer the deeper it is.

The claim is about 30 acres in extent and is known to be every valuable.
The company will be organized here and operations will be commenced soon.
