O the prominent cities electing Republican mayors, we find East Saginaw, Bay City Saginaw City, Ypsilanti, Lansing, Owosso Marshall, AdriaD, Battle Creek, Plint, Iiillsdale, Holland, Big Rápida, Ionia, Ma i-on, Howell, Constantine, Pentwater, Fen ton, St. Joseph, St. Johns, etc In Grane Rapids tlie Republicana and Democrat united and elected all of their ticket excep mayor. In Jackton the Domocrats electec mayor only, while in several other place the majority of officers elected were Repub licans. This shows how the people stam puliticully.and how fully the deaih-blow wi! be given to all hopes our Democratie friend may have ever had of making Michigan a close state in the coming campaign. The returns of the vote upon the consti tuiional amendment relative to increasing the salary of the Governor from $1,000 to $3,000 are so meagre that it is impossible to state the decisión of the people.
