Wm. A. Clark, Eeq., .-pent last week in Toledo. Mrs. Wm, II. Hoyt, of Wyandotte, is visiting friends in this city. Kcv. W. 11. Algcr, of Boston, Las boon in the city for the past few days. II. P. Myrick is in Chicago the present week visiting friends and relatives. Prof. Winchell delivers the mxth and last lccture of the course at Howell, on the 31 st. E. J. Ferdon, of Lakeview, passed a few days with bis parents in this city lust week. Capt. Butler, of Jackson, spent last Sabbath in the city, the guest of John F. Lawrence. S. B. Bliss, of East Saginaw, has been the guest of B. F. Watts for the past few days. S. P. Jewett visited Manchester and Sharon last week, looking over his farm in the latter township. Mrs. Samuel Chapín, of this city, has gone to Grass Lake to live with her son, Dr. E. B. Chapin. Miss Sollaco, of Woodbridge, N. J , the guest of P,rof. Hennequin for some time past, has returned to her heme. Mrs. N. Chapin, who has been residing in Milwaukee lor the past few uionths bas returned to her home in this city. Prof. A. Ten Brook, of N. Y. city, who was called here by the death of liis on last week, has returned to his place ot' bu-iness. N. A. Prudden, who has been quite sick for the past four months, has so far recovered as to be able to attend to his busi ne-s. Revs. Maltby Gelston and M. B. Gelston were in a'ttendance upon the" recent session of the Detroit Presbytery, at Brightbn. Dr. John H. Heron, of Leadville, Col., and Miss Minnic Füley, of this city, wero married Wednesday morning last at 8t. Thomas' church. -Mr. Thomas Colli#han, onc of the most enterprising and successf'ul agents for Dr. Chase's Recipe Book, iá spending a few days in the city. We received a very pleasant cali f'rom E. O. Hoyt, of the Dcxtur Leader, one day lust week. Bro. Hoyt reporta evorything progressing finely at our up-theHuron neighbor. Mrs. Abbie M. Gray, of Alpena, wil spend a few weeks visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. Kei tb, in Dexter, aml hor sister, Mrs. E. E. Beal, with other rela tives and friends in this city.
