E. Donovan, of Chicago, was home on a visit last week. Miss Cora Gray, of Dexter, was in the city last Tuesday. Dr. Goodyear and wife, of Groton, N. Y., are visiting Paul Minnia and faiuily. M. Halier left last week for an extendod western trip, visiting Kansas, Colorado, etc. Mrs. Dr. May, of Detroit, nee Tilla Woodruff, is visiting her inother, Mrs. A. li. Huil. U1_1__I_.___1_A Mrs. John Boylan went to Leroy, N. Y., last week to attend the funeral of her brother's wife. Geo. Renwick, for many years a prominent farmer of Northüeld, was in town Wednesday last. D. W. Hammond, publisher of the Index, at Marktte, Sanilac couuty.was in the oity last Monday on business. A. J. Baboock, former manager of the University, and a gradúate of the luw dopartment, has been in the oity this week. Mrs. H. E. Pilcher, of this city, last week attended a Bession of the woman's foreign uiissionary society, at Springfield, 111. R. H. Rerick, of Lagrango, Ind. , was in the city Monday last, and eontracted with this office for the publication of a large work of some 300 pages. Mrs. Capt. 11. M. Barker, of Flint, is visiting her brother's - Geo. II. Pond - family, her sister Mi A. A. Pond, and other relatives and friends in the city. Mrs. Bishop and Mrs. Prazer, of tliis sity, have been appointed as delegatea to kttend the state session of the W. C. T. U., to be held in Howell on the 25th, 26thand 27th inst. Miss Susie Ilichardson, of this city, jaughter of Mrs. Rev. E. A. Bpence, was married on Thursday, of last week, to Lüareuce, f. HUI, of Eist Sagioaw. Many paluable presents wtere received by the souple. Dr. W. H. Sinith, gradúate of the medical department, class of '79, whohas been spending several montlis in Detroit, has returned to this city with an idea of a permanent residence. Mr. Smith was a former contributor of University items to this paper. Miss Helen F. Weymouth, of Augusta, Ga., fornearly two years a student at the liigh school in this city, was married at her home on Monday last, to Mr. Oeo. F. Homer. Miss W. had many friends among her classmates here who will send messages of joy and happiness.
