The democratie manager having bad mueh to say aboutcorruption of republican officials in their statements, indulging wholly in generalities and failing utterly to sustain their assertions by factsand figures, a statement froni official sources has beeu compiled to show in part to what extent the governnient was robbed by democratie officials trom 1830 to 1861. This person was collector of internal revenue at New Orleans under Andrew Johnson from 1867 to 1869, and, according to the statement from the books of the treasury, he defaulted to the amount of $356,452. No part of this sutn lias been accounted for to the government.
