Bach & Abel made a display and were awarded the first premium over all competitors by four of the most competent , judges of Dry Goods in Washtenaw county -for the riclied, largcal and best dinplay of Dry Goods. In glanciug over the display of Dry Ooods we were particularly attracted to the southern part of the hall by the immense display of Messrs. Bach & Abel. Never beforc had wc seen such a large display of rich dry goods at a county fair. Our attention was first callcd to the display of silks and satins. We were shown handsome silks at 60, 70, 80 and 90 cents. Heavy dress silks at $1.09, $1.25, $1.39 and $1.50. Handgome satins at $1.25. Colored dMM silks heavy at $1.00. We admit that Bach & Abel lead in silks and satins. Our attention was next called to their display of dress goods ; we wcre shown :i pile of cashineres that extended neaily to the roof. Being a little inquisitiye and thinking that perhaps some day we would have to buy somethinj,' In that lino, askcd what the price was, and to our great astonishment we were informed that they were only 45 cents per yard, and all wool, 40 inches wide. We were also shown cashmere at 50, 60, 75 and 90 ets. and $1.00. Messrs. Bach & Abel claim to be headquarters for all kinds of dress goods. They buy in large quantities and by so doing get extra discounts, henee it is very easy to see how they can sell so niuch cheaper than their neighbors who buy their goods in smaller quantities. We advise all ladics in search of goods in this line to vUit this establishlishment before purchasing for we think it impossible to beat their prices in Detroit or any other city. Their display of shawls, cloaks and dolmans were simply immense. We were shown cloaks frorn $2.12J to $35.00; also dolmans froin $5.00 to $50.00. Their Paisley shawls at $20.00, $30.00, $40.00 and $50.00 wcre very handsome. There were quantities of cloaks and dolmans on exhibition but none in our opinión could compare with Bach & Abel's. They are solé agenta in Ann Arbor for Springer Bros. celebrated cloaks and dolmans, the name of which is suffleient. Our attention was next called to their immense display of tica, handkerchiefs, kid gloves, buttons, ribbons, etc. We were shown lace ties f rom $2.00 to $8.00; lace fichus from f3.00 $15.00. They also had on exhibition a showcase containing some very elegant and rich goods. Our attention was particularly called to thcir silk handkerchiefs embroidered by hand, in all colors, at $0.00. All the faif ones who cxamlned this case admittcd that it contained the richest goods," and they were arrantred the neatest of nnv case on cxhibition. The trimmer of this case was John Walir, one of the leading Germán salesmen of Bach & Abel. We have endeavored to mention soino of the goods on exhibition of this popular fimi. and to recount a few of the most beautiful and attractive fabrics that met the eye of our reporter, but that scribe feels that his powers of description are utterly inadequate to the task, and in conclusión can only ask his readers, especially the fair portion, to cali at once at Bach & Abel's store, where they are all on exhibition, and see for themselves.
