A nuniber of ladies met at the reaidence of A. McReynolds, on State strcet, on Saturday last, for the purpose of organizing a wooiaii'h club or association, its object being moral, social and mental improvement, based upon etpud rightt. The preliminulies resulted in the appointment of achairman and secretaryro tem. The chairinan nominated a committee of five ladies to draft resolutiuos, and a constitution andbylaws. The necessity, advantagee and benefits of such a socinty were elnquently dis cussed by several hkdiea ]rei-ent, neveral articlcs bearing upon the subject read, and a vote ias.sed to make a public cali for the nfxt meeting.
