Tlie annual banquet of the Phi Delta Phi fraternity is to be given on the evening of February 22d, at Hangsterfer's hall, a glorioMs time is in anttcipation. Prof. Olney's revbion of his plane and spherical geometry is now being issued by the CouBIKB presses. The edition now being printcd is for Brown nnivorj-ity, it is understood. The last Chrooicle gives the ïiewspapers particular "Jesse" under the head of " Hobbies," and so trotsouta "hobby" of its own. Company A. seems to be its particular hobby just at present. The university association of mastcr inasons bas elected it9 offieers fr the coming year. They are distributcd as follows: Hon. consul, J. J. Louis, medie. ; vicecónsul, J. 11. Hlytlie, law; scrivoner, Dwight (Joss, lit. ; treasurer, J. T. Axtell, medie; gladiator, W. J. Drum, luw. The university civil service reform assoeiation came into life last Saturday niglit, having Iota of help, in tha law lecture roonia. The constitution adopted was essentially the eatne as tbe New York society. It iá to be strt'ctli nonpartisan- that's good - and its doors are open to all sym pathizers. The following is a list of officers chosen : l'resident, Prof. Moses Coit Tyler ; vice-presidents - froni the literary department- Prof. C. K. Adams, C. A. Towne ; law department, Prof. T. M. Cooley G. W. Allen ; medical dopartment, Prof. E. S. Dunster, O. O. McKee ; seoretary, J. 11. Riymonl, nf tho uninr law class. A right lively contest oceurred last Saturday, over the cboice of Chroniolo editora. Rut two tickets were in the field, but the number of vnters who eserciscd tho right of francliise was unusually large. ThesucOMtfal ticket was Robert T. üray, of Detroit, Delta Kappa Epsiton ; Junius K. Beal, Ann Arbor, BetaTheta Pi ; Geo. VV. Staple, Cleveland, Ohio, and William Streeter, Quincy, Mich., independents. At the meeting a commitiee was appointud looking to the consolidaron of The University with The Chronicle. The o!d board of Chronicle editors held a meeting last Friday evening, to divide the spoils, thanked Mr. Boughton, the gentlemanly manager for his past excellent services in that capacity during the last semester, hada supper, and went home happy.
