It ia not many ycars back in history sincc this samo I'omeruy, then holding lortb at La Crosse, Wis., publUhcd one of the vilest rebel sheets ever thrown oat among the people. He callcd the federal army " liincoln's hirclings," swore vengeance upon every war mea.sure, cried cut agaiost every sentiment which was union loving, and did all in his power to defeat our soldiers in the field. This is one of the men who now, in the most prospcrous times the nation haf ever secn, cries out against the men elected to office. He would tryto make the people discontented, and endeavor to make tbem belicve that thcy are oppressed by burdensouie taxes. Is thcre a nation on earth where the taxes are lichter? The people don't secm to be in a mood to appreciate the out of season drivel which ulabbers from the mouth of this orack-brained wind bag.
