The meeting was organized by theclcction of Uon. Qeo. S. Wheeler, of Salem, as cliairman. The following township superintendeiits wciv present, and entitled to seats and votes in in the meeting: Ann Arbor town F.M. Ilulland Augusta J. K. Cambell Brldgewater H. K. Palmer Uoxter:.... .". Politieally, we believe the board was about equalljr divided, but the cliairman counseled the entire removal of politlcal fecling from its dcliberatlons, Mld the choice of the best men for the positions. A recesa was taken muil halfpast one o'clock p. m. The electlon of examinéis being the object of the meeting tliat business was immediately proceeded with upon reasMmbiing In the afternoon, and resulted in the clioice of Zelotus Truc;del, of Pontiac, for three years Hon. Geo. S. Wheeler, i1 Balem, for two years; and E. C. Warner, of Ypsilanti, for oue year. The liLst two gentleman are residents of the county, :ind men who will honor the position. Mr. Wheeler is especially adaptad to the place for which he has been chosen, having for several terms aooeptably and ably filled the office of superintendent of scliools for Washtenaw county. Uut wliy our people should go to Oakland county to select an examiner for the three years' term, is a mystery to many. As we understand it, Mr. Truesdel is not a resident of this county at the present time. lie has been stopping liere for a while, but liis Family live at Pontiac and hit boma iin l'cintiac, and if au election was licld tomorrow h' woulil vote in Pontiac, or lose his vote. Is it possible tliat this county is so hard up for timber to til! this office tliat tlity must import from a nelghborlng county ; and then secure such mighty shaky timber at tliat? It strikes us that the 9flioo ¦uperintendente hul no legal i-ibt to elect this man To be IUW tu nny li:ivc iledarod bis intention to beconie :i ratldeot, but tliat docsn't niako liim one. Another thiiif;, tlicic ara :i grAl maiiy people n iliis city, wlio know tbc man, and do ncil consiilrr liim titteil for tlie position. Tbey do not believo ho will fiivo satisfaction to the pcople ot' tbis coitnty. Tbcrc are plenty of men in onr own limils wlio woiilil liavc liccn au honor to the ponition, and valubh t the people and schools of our counly. It is onr opinión tliat tli is inipoiicd imlividnal will bc nelther.
