President Angelí is on his way home. Miss Maggie Morton, l, spent Thanksgiving in this city with her parents. Miss M. J. Malcolmson, '83, teaches Rhetoric and English in the Detroit High school. .Miss Minnie Bary, '78, is teacher of Latin and Qreek in the Detroit High school. Dr Neal, '81, is in the city. He is this year taking a course of medical lectnres in New York city. Miss Smith, who entered college witli '81, has charge of the eleventh grade in the Detroit schools. The Alpha Nu society is negotiating with several parties tor a piano. A part of the mooey has already been ruised. A. D. Whipple, lit '81, has resigned his positiou as teacher in Dexter to accept a posiliou in a bank at White Pigeon. Miss Anna B. Gelston, '81, has been offered and has accepted a position in the faculty of Wcllolcy college, Massachusetts. The father of n "hazed" freshman of Bowiloin college, Stuart by name, sues 7 upper-classuien tor the injuries inflicted on his sou. Miss Alice A. Freeman has been advanced to the vice-presidency of Wellesley college, Mass. Slie has held a professorship there for several years past. Frank Davison, a gradúate of the law department, and Miss Helern, of Hannibal, Mo., were recently married. Mr. Davison will practice law at the above named place. L. C. Huil, lit. '76, as principal of the Detroit High school, is having marked success. He is a thorough teacher, and is successful in endeavoring to raise the standard of the school. The Uuiversity Senate has appointed a committee to draft resolutions on ilie death of Dr. Tappan. President Frieze has been invited to deliver a memorial address in l'nivoisity Hall it souae not vei-y distant day. The Pontiac Gazette says that Michigan University is to have a new museum which will cost $60,000. This is news to us. Such a building could be used, undoubtedly, but the same amount of money could be applied to better advantage in another direction just now. It will be of interest to all university men to know that the old post office in which we used to have so many soul inspiring "rushes" is no more. A new building being provided tor it.- Clare Co. Cleaver. Just one year ahead of time, we are going to have a new post office next year. The class of'84 elected au Oracle board on Saturday. After quite a warm contest the followiug persons were elected : A. H. Williams, A. E. Miller, F. C. Wagner, Hugh Brown, H. E. Palmer, - Fairbanks, W. B. Chamberlain and F. N. Scott. Five are independents and three are society boys. The annual election of offleers of the Athletic Association was held last Saturday. The result oí the election vu for president, 11. S. Manon; vice-presldent, T. W. Gilmore; secretary, H. A. Mandell; treasurer, W. F. Word. The directora of the several classes and departments are Me isre. Davenport, Hodge, Wormwood, Townsend, Olcott, Arbury, McDonald, Hughart, Ferguson, Taylor, Wintermute.
