HU house was atways a refuge for the unfortunate. and whlle hls strength was spared hlm, he labored early and late to secure the happi nes and welfare of those placed under hls proteotion. Hls many virtues endeared hlm to all who know hlm. Heaven Is made of such as be : a noble citlzen a true frlend a devotedhusbund, and indulgen t father. Wlth tearful eyes he sald : "My dear chlleren I am going a long Joarney, never to return." Hls words were true, the cold arm of death has dealt lts fatal blow, and tber is one more vacant ebalr. Joys ooine to every household often times but tb sbadow wilt ooner or later come, and there Is a sorrow enklndled by death that nevcr grows llghMr. Hls work Is (lnished but he has left an example of truth. lovlng patlenc, and forbeareuce that Is almost unequalled. "Father, thon art gone to rest, How we miss thee few can teil, Yetour Savlor knows whats best. Yes, "He doeth all thlngs well."
