A few weeks ago the Detroit Christian Advocate published a few extracta from a lecture of Dr. Frothingliam which had been printed in pamphlet form. These extract proved conclusively that tbe dot headel professor had formely been makingjust BUOh statements as Mr. Morgan had ohxrged him with recently utteiing The Detroit associatlon of minister have now taken it upand have adopted the resolution nppearing beneath. These will be cireulated for signatures and tlicn forwarded to the regenta. " The undersigned, members of the Detroit ministerial unión, taxpayers for the support of our state institiitions and othere, believcr in the Clr.ïstian religión, desire to place on record their convictions relating to the alleged attacks on religiou in the medical department of the state university ; and this we do without any desire to sit in judgment in a particular case, or to interfere with the legal adniinitration of affairs, or to prevent lawful freedomof utterancc of opinión. We respectfully represent: 1. That the University of Michigan was founded and supported froni the beginning vcry largely by Cliristian men and by revered men of tha! ministerial profession who, it is publicly afflrmed,are assailed with contemptuous and hostile language. 2. That the Uuivcrsity is now supported by a state the mnjority of whose peoplc regard the Christian religión as sacred, and this without any dtsire to see a i-ectarlan control of its atFairs. 3.
