One of the brightest and best plays herc thls seasoM is Herne's Hearts of Oak next Wednesday nlght. All the scenery g carried by the company and is new and painted especially for this piece, and it requires a whole car for itg transportaron. The grand scène of the wreek on the waves in a terrific storm of thunder, lightnine and rain, all reolistically represented is alone worth the priceof admission. The Missouri Republican, of Jauuaiy 3, says : "Hearts of Oak" is a very strong play, and iU motive and action enlist the tinest sympathies of the human heart. Mr. James A. Heme plays the leading role with tina forcé and effect, and Miss Catharine Corcoran as Chrystal is clever and winning, and thoroughly gympathetic. It deserves the success it bas achievcd and the fame it has won in the hands of Herne and his company.
