Hope had long I sincebeen given up by the doctors, but by I hls strength of wlll he fought the disease for I a long time. He was born April 17, 1837, in I Lima, and lived in the conuty untii ten or I twelve years ago, when lie went to Farwell I aad kept a hotel. About foor years ago he I went luto stock-raising in Kansas. In I ter he was in the banking and tnllllng I ness, under the drm name of Oregory, Phelps I & Potter.
